Asymmetric tailgate
Relocating Discovery 3´s spare wheel beneath the floor has enabled us to develop a unique asymmetric tailgate design. This tailgate supplies a major functional benefit as well as adding a bold visual feature. When raised, its low section allows easy access to the contents of the interior, and when the tailgate is lowered it makes it a shorter stretch into the open load area. The longer tailgate portion has a variety of uses too, for instance when heavy luggage needs support, or for arranging an impromptu picnic. |

Adaptive headlights
Discovery 3´s optional Adaptive headlights are able to alter the way their light is cast on the road by responding to vehicle speed, direction and attitude. The powerful Bi-xenon lamps move left, right, up or down in reaction to changes in speed, pitch and steering angle. This ability can be used to counteract the effects of hard braking, for instance, or when turning into bends so that the road surface and any hazards are properly illuminated. |

Asymmetric air-induction vent
Every design feature on Discovery 3 is there for a reason. For instance, we´ve positioned its wing-mounted air-induction vent for optimum engine breathing whilst also being in the best possible position to maximise wading depth. But because just one vent is needed, we´ve added a vent on one side only. |

Colours and finishes
Discovery 3´s body is finished using an advanced and environmentally friendly paint process. Eleven eye-catching colours are available in a number of surface finishes, with recommended trim and body colour combinations supplied by our designers. |
